Another day, another tenor! The singularly gifted painter/opera singer (who, had he been born a century earlier, might well have been the inspiration for the tragic hero Cavaradossi in Puccini's Tosca) is joined by the lovely young Australian soprano (currently studying at the International Academy of Voice at Cardiff University) in a programme of operatic arias and duets with introductions by one of Wales's leading musicologists.
Côr Caerdydd
Venue: St. Teilo's Church
Time: 7.30pm
Admission: £15.00
Conductor: Gwawr Owen
Again, one of Wales's leading young choirs will give the traditional Welsh concert when Cor Caerdydd returns to Llandeilo on the final Saturday of the Festival . The choir was formed in 1992 and immediately announced its arrival on the choral scene with victory in the National Eisteddfod's Chief Choral competition in Aberystwyth that year. This was the choir's first public appearance and that victory, remarkably, was to be followed by a further nine in the following sixteen years, most recently in its home city of Cardiff in the 2008 event. The choir enjoys the distinction of having performed at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall, as well as at the British Embassy in Paris and in Italy, Spain and Romania.
