This quartet first came to Llandeilo in 2017, when, as students in Manchester’’s Royal Northern College of Music, they had only just formed their ensemble . Their rise to musical prominence since then has been quite remarkable, with appearances at an increasing number of concert venues throughout, as well as success in the 2023 Cavatina String Quartet Competition, in London’s Wigmore Hall, where they were Finalists. The members of the quartet use instruments made, in the workshop of W E Hill and Sons, from a single tree. Whether or not for that reason their sound is meticulously blended, something which is likely to be even more marked in the superb acoustic of St. Teilo’s Church.
